Learn the TriYoga Method  

TriYoga is a complete hatha yoga method which includes asana, pranayama, mudra, visualization and meditation techniques, all systematized by level.  The TriYoga method comes from founder Yogini Kaliji’s direct ongoing experience of kriyavati siddhi – kundalini energy manifesting as hatha yoga sequences – characterized by smooth rhythmical breath, spinal waves and focused awareness. Unifying prāṇāyāma and mudra with dynamic and sustained asanas expands the flow of Prāṇā.

TriYoga Prasara

 

TriYoga principles include relaxation-in-action, wave-like spinal movements and economy of motion. With the systematic approach, students can remain with Basics or progress to subsequent levels. Within each level, students increase their knowledge of posture and flow, as well as strength, flexibility, endurance and breath control. Through sustained awareness on all aspects of the practice, the movement of body, breath and mudra harmonize and the inner flow of energy naturally emerges.

 

Become a Great Teacher

woman being instructed on yoga techniquesOur goal is to train competent and confident teachers. Our graduates leave the program knowing a minimum of 5 different class flows, and most importantly, how to lead a safe class and modify for individual students. The training is done over 10 or more months to give you time to acquire the knowledge and teaching skills you need to become a successful teacher. Those who need extra time to develop teaching skills will be given the extra support. Graduation is based on proficiency. When you graduate you will be ready to teach.

 

Techniques

The Techniques training weekends cover the five primary series of Basics. You will gain a deep understanding of alignment, breath control, focus and precise transitions synchronizing breath and movement. Patanjali defines yoga as the control of the thought waves of the mind. When yoga is practiced with focus and awareness the obstacles to the flow of energy are removed and first three kośas – the physical, the energetic and the mental/emotional layers of our being – come into balance, connecting us to our intuitive knowledge and the body of bliss. The practice is healing and transformative.

Techniques trainings are appropriate for those who wish to deepen their practice as well as those who wish to teach.

You will also study Prana Vidya and learn practices for expanding energy and attaining the higher limbs of yoga – concentration, meditation, and samadhi.

Teaching Methodology

In Methodology you will learn how to identify imbalances in students’ alignments and help them achieve more ease, comfort, and benefits from the practice. This is done through precise cuing, effective use of props, and skillful hands on alignment.  You will learn how to modify postures for specific student needs. The emphasis is on learning to work safely and respectfully with students.

 

Anatomy and Physiology 

We will study Anatomy in the flow, to understand and better appreciate how individual differences in anatomical structure can influence the range of movement available to an individual student.  You will also gain a deeper appreciation for the importance of alignment. For example, when a foot is out of alignment it creates imbalance throughout the body because everything is connected. Over time it can create strain in the knees, the hips, the back. This in turn could effects the shoulders and neck. You will learn anatomy through the lens of interconnectedness in the body, which will help you see the energetics in yoga postures.

 

Practicum

During Practicum you will learn how to teach with precise alignment cues to keep your students focused and flowing. You will practice teaching each of the flows first in small teaching groups then progress to teaching community classes. Our program places a great deal of emphasis on teaching you how to teach. Upon graduation you will have the knowledge to create a safe and enjoyable practice and work with beginning students who have a variety of needs.

 

Yoga Philosophy and Lifestyle  patanjali

Learn philosophy from TriYoga Founder Yogini Kaliji. Kaliji makes yoga philosophy understandable and relevant. She brings depth and unique understanding to the yoga texts. In the Basics training we will cover the Yamas and Niyamas. You can listen online, in your own time. Study questions and in-class discussions lead to a deep understanding and appreciation of the 8 Limb Path.

There is also a weekend of learning about a plant-based diet to maximize the health and well being of you, your students and the planet.

Fifteen hours of Pranayama is taught as part of the yogic lifestyle.

 

Frequency and Duration of Training

Trainings are held one weekend per month, with an additional weekends for Anatomy and Plant-Based Ahimsa diet.

The entire training is approximately 10 months. Some students may take longer to complete the program. We fully support our teachers’ growth and development so they graduate fully competent and confident.

Training Materials

Basics Manual. The manual includes:

♦  Yoga Nidra section including: Kaliji’s writings on yoga nidra; instructions for closing a class; 7 written guided relaxations.

♦  Prana Vidya section including: Kaliji’s writings on Prana Vidya, Guidelines; Full instructions for 6 Pranayama techniques; Full instructions for concentration on energy (Dharana Sakti Kriya); Full instructions for 5 different meditation techniques.

♦  Tips for teaching 

The cost of the Manual is $115 (including shipping).  The manual is required for those studying to teach. It is optional for those attending to deepen their practice.

These DVDs are not required but are highly recommended for those studying to teach. Each DVD is $15.

Application Process

1. Read the Certification Handbook. It includes details on certification requirements, program, methods to work toward certification, internship, additional course offerings and professional and business support.

2.  You can now fill in the application online. Read and fill out the internship application as well as the copyright statement and nondisclosure agreement.  These go directly to TriYoga International.
